After leaving a lucrative position as a Software Analyst specializing in microwave technologies for satellite communications and missile guidance systems, John Peros began his career in the entertainment industry as an actor and model in his early 20’s working on numerous print, television, film and theatrical projects. He was the founding Artistic Director of The Over-The-Counter Theatre Company in NYC and Manhattan South Studio Theatre in Orlando where he mentored many aspiring actors, writers and directors while directing or producing a variety of critically acclaimed productions such as THE WOMAN IN BLACK, BENT, ECHOES, HOME OF THE BRAVE, WOMEN BEHIND BARS and NUTS.
During the cable television news proliferation of the 1990’s, John was sought after as a Media Coach in Washington D.C. and Florida where he coached many notable attorneys, senators and politicians on how to appear relatable, honest and confident in front of the camera, in the courtroom or in front of reporters.
Along with his brother, Writer/Director Steven Peros, John has co-produced several film, theatrical and literary projects including FOOTPRINTS, THE CAT’S MEOW and STOKER & WELLS.
John is currently one of the Southeast’s busiest commercial Casting Directors where he has cast hundreds of television, film, print, live event and commercial projects for a wide spectrum of global clients. John continues to be a Guest Lecturer at many colleges and universities including Rollins College, Hofstra University, NYU, Suffolk Community College, UCF and Seminole State College where he focuses on bridging the divide between academic theatre programs and the realities of an ever changing entertainment industry.
JOHN PEROS CASTING has been serving the production community since 1989, casting hundreds of commercials, as well as, episodic television, film, industrials, music videos and print campaigns. After ten years on the back lot of Universal Studios Orlando, we have joined forces with The Maile School and moved to a larger three-studio facility on the 17-92 corridor between Downtown Orlando and Winter Park.
